Trick or Treat!

Yes, today is Halloween – one of my favourite days of the year.

Jaromir Jagr costumes are in full effect.

Chocolate bars are flowing.

And a marathon of classic scary movies begin.

All makes for an interesting day.

But before you throw on your favourite scary movie, or begin the trick or treat festivities – I would like to mention that I’m working at JS Fitness Studio and taking on in-person clients. If you’re looking to build strength, move better or perhaps work around a low back injury – now is the time!

As a new client – you will receive:

  • Medical history review.
  • A posture, movement, and core stability assessment specific to your goals.
  • Customized monthly programs that are developed based on your goals and assessment findings.
  • Taught how to squat, deadlift, lunge, push, pull and carry like a BEAST
  • A better appreciation for long-term LOW BACK health.

All training sessions are performed in a semi-private format. Meaning, outside of the initial assessment, you will be training alongside 1-3 other like-minded people.

The Birth of a brand, staying consistent, and ‘Dad Talk’ with Tony Gentilcore – Coach Casey Lee did a great job interviewing Tony Gentilcore. Tony shares valuable information about how to handle haters or people that criticize you. The story Tony shares about how he dealt with a fitness professional that criticized him on an article he wrote 10 years ago was great.

The Specialization Success Guide by Eric Cressey & Greg Robbins – After finishing the High-Performance Handbook – I purchased this resource to follow-up my exercise program and build on the big 3 (e.g., Back Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift). And I must say I’m loving it. Not only am I enjoying the workouts, but I’ve learned about programming for the big 3. Back Squatting has never been a strong suit of mine, and Greg Robbins shares some valuable tips in this resource.

The Art of the Deload In a follow-up to the Specialization Success Guide – I purchased the Art of the Deload, which explains different periodization strategies for everyone from beginners to elite athletes. A nice resource for anyone that may not understand how to structure rest weeks, active recovery weeks, volume, etc.
